Marketing For Beginners — Session 4— Building Blocks — Images and Videos

--

Images and videos are the core of everything; you can think about all the videos in the universe and still can’t find the right one. The right part is about the brand's mood.

Assignment: Make a mood board for the Brand you are working on.

The most underrated statement: Get a god damn Graphic Expert to do this job. A Marketer needs to strategize but, a graphic designer needs to bring those designs into reality.

Videos and Images require the following things

A Story: In marketing, a story is a powerful tool to connect with your audience on an emotional level. It goes beyond simply listing features and benefits; it creates a narrative that resonates with your target customer.

A good marketing story can:

  • Highlight the problem your product or service solves.
  • Showcase how your offering makes your customer’s life better.
  • Evoke emotions like trust, excitement, or inspiration.
  • Make your brand memorable and relatable.

A Script: A script is a written document outlining the dialogue, actions, and scene descriptions for a video, audio recording, or even a live presentation.

In marketing, scripts are often used for:

  • Creating commercials or social media videos.
  • Developing podcast episodes or webinars.
  • Planning presentations or sales pitches.
  • Ensuring consistency and clarity in messaging.

A Plan: A marketing plan is a roadmap that outlines your goals, target audience, strategies, and tactics for achieving your marketing objectives. It should be a comprehensive document that details:

  • Situation analysis: Understanding your current market position and competitor landscape.
  • Target audience identification: Who are you trying to reach?
  • Marketing goals: What do you want to achieve (brand awareness, lead generation, sales)?
  • Marketing strategies: How will you reach your target audience (social media, content marketing, email marketing, etc.)?
  • Marketing tactics: Specific actions and channels you’ll utilize to execute your strategies.
  • Budget allocation: Resources allocated to different marketing activities.
  • Measurement and evaluation: How will you track success and adjust your plan as needed?

An Execution Timeline: An execution timeline is a visual representation of your marketing plan, outlining the specific tasks, deadlines, and dependencies for each marketing activity.

  • It helps you stay organized, ensure timely execution, and identify potential bottlenecks. Popular tools for creating execution timelines include Gantt charts or project management software.

Graphic Designer: A graphic designer is a creative professional who uses visual elements like images, typography, and layout to create visually appealing and effective communication.

  • Logos and brand identity elements
  • Social media graphics and posts
  • Email marketing templates
  • Website and landing page designs
  • Brochures, flyers, and other print materials

Brand Managers: Brand managers are responsible for the overall health and direction of a brand. They oversee brand strategy, communication, and marketing efforts.

  • Developing and maintaining the brand positioning and messaging.
  • Managing the brand budget and marketing campaigns.
  • Conducting market research and analyzing customer behavior.
  • Building and maintaining brand partnerships.
  • Protecting and enhancing brand equity.

Social Media Channel: A social media channel is a platform used for online social interaction and communication. In marketing, social media channels are used to:

  • Connect with your target audience and build relationships.
  • Promote your brand and products.
  • Share valuable content and engage your audience.
  • Run targeted advertising campaigns.
  • Generate leads and conversions.

Popular social media channels for marketing include:

  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Twitter
  • LinkedIn
  • YouTube
  • TikTok

Embed Links: Embed links are a way to insert clickable links within other digital content, such as websites, emails, or social media posts.

  • When someone clicks on an embedded link, they are taken directly to the linked webpage or resource. This allows you to seamlessly integrate additional information or resources into your marketing materials.

Forms: Forms are online questionnaires used to collect information from users.

  • Generating leads: Capture contact information from potential customers interested in your product or service.
  • Conducting surveys and collecting feedback.
  • Processing online orders or registrations.
  • Running contests and promotions.

Effective forms are short, easy to fill out, and offer clear instructions and value propositions for completing them.
